The Petzl Micro Swivel is a particularly compact screw-on swivel that was developed for use with carabiners. The elastic ring incorporated into the eyelet holds the carabiner in its longitudinal axis, thus preventing transverse loads on the carabiner. Fasteners can be easily installed through the wide, screw-on opening. This makes it possible to build very compact and lightweight systems. When under load, the Petzl Micro Swivel does not move, thus keeping the devices in the correct position. If the swivel is not under load, it can move freely and the lanyards are prevented from twisting.
