Die Dubliners wurden 1962 in Dublin als The »Ronnie Drew Folk Group« gegründet und waren in den 60er und 70er Jahren die prominenteste irische Folk Formation. Später wurde ihr Sound von bands wie The Chieftains, The Pogues oder Clannad fortgesetzt.
