The Roadrunner Years

Açıklama

Originally founded in 1979 under the name Pierced Arrow, the band transformed into Beowulf in 1982 before adopting the name Crimson Glory with a solid line-up that included the powerful and enigmatic frontman, Midnight. The band distinguished themselves from the crowd by wearing metallic masks, giving them a disquieting and ethereal appearance. Crimson Glory quickly gained recognition for their anthemic songwriting, which featured progressive harmonies and dramatic, high-pitched vocals. They toured internationally alongside bands such as Anthrax, Metallica, Queensrÿche, and Ozzy Osbourne. With the lead single "Lonely" from the album "Transcendence," the band achieved a hit and became a favourite on MTV. The album cover featured the Japanese poster for the iconic 1985 science fiction film "Lifeforce." On the 1991 album "Strange and Beautiful," drummer Ravi Jakhotia, who later gained fame as DJ Ravidrums and performed with stars like Ricky Martin and the Black Eyed Peas, played. This release is complemented by liner notes from author Darren Sadler, who conducted brand new interviews with long-time bassist Jeff Lords and contributed photos and archival material from Lords’ personal collection. Crimson Glory continue to tour and record to this day. Loudwire listed "Transcendence" at number 15 in their "Top 25 Power Metal Albums of All Time" poll, noting that "singer Midnight possessed the ear-piercing falsetto in heavy metal (yes, he even surpassed that of King Diamond and Rob Halford)."
