SZNZ: Winter

Weezer is releasing the LP edition of the already released album SZNZ: Winter. SZNZ: Winter was originally intended to be a subdued, acoustic-driven work, but during its creation, it evolved into a fusion of everything that Weezer fans have loved from the band's work in the current decade, with the help of producers Suzy Shinn and James Flanigan. Songs like 'Basketball' and 'The One That Got Away' musically fit with songs from 2016's 'Weezer (The White Album)', while tracks like 'Iambic Pentameter' and 'The Deep and Dreamless Sleep' recall the expansive elements and crunchy guitar of 2014's 'Everything Will Be Alright In The End'. There's plenty of guitar sounds in the collection of seven songs, shifting moments from 2021's 'Van Weezer' into the spotlight. SZNZ: Winter, together with the other three EPs released this year - SZNZ: Autumn, SZNZ: Spring, and SZNZ: Summer - ultimately forms a spectacular whole, bringing the SZNZ project to a close. Listening to all four pieces in succession, it is undeniable that the SZNZ project, in which the band made the effort to record and release the EPs in real time, contains some of the most inspired and imaginative songs in the Weezer discography.
