To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', Roger Waters announces the release of his homage to the original, 'The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux'. Waters says: 'When we recorded the songs for the Lockdown Sessions, the 50th anniversary of the release of The Dark Side Of The Moon was approaching. It occurred to me that The Dark Side Of The Moon could be a suitable candidate for a similar reworking, partly as a tribute to the original, but also to address the political and emotional message of the entire album anew. I discussed this with Gus and Sean, and when we stopped giggling and shouting at each other 'You must be crazy,' we decided to tackle it. It has turned out really great, and I’m looking forward to everyone hearing it. It's not a replacement for the original, which of course is irreplaceable. But it is a way for the 79-year-old man to look back over the intervening fifty years into the eyes of the 79-year-old and say, to quote a poem of mine about my father: 'We did our best, we held his trust, our father would have been proud of us.' And it is also a way for me to pay tribute to a recording that Nick and Rick and Dave and I are rightfully very proud of. As a founding member, lyricist, and principal composer of Pink Floyd during the band's most influential and creative time, Roger Waters has achieved worldwide success and fame. Read more
