Live at the Matrix

Descripción

Very early in their career, The Doors played in a small, unassuming club called The Matrix, owned by Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane. At that time, there was a rule that bands from L.A. had to play at The Matrix if they came to San Francisco - as a 'tax' and homage to the bands that had built up the local scene. The Doors gladly obliged, and co-owner Peter Abram recorded the band's two performances on March 7th and 10th, 1967. The set includes soon-to-be beloved cover versions by The Doors, such as 'Gloria,' and blues favorites like 'Alabama Song (Whisky Bar),' which would define their influence and sound, as they worked on originals like 'Break on Through (To The Other Side).' This will certainly spark discussions, as the highlights of the shows have been previously released as RSD packages over the years, and fans have eagerly awaited having the complete shows in their collection from the first-generation recordings. The 5-LP + 7' and 3-CD box set includes new liner notes by Joel Selvin. Seguir leyendo
