Description

While the songs were later to appear on 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas,' 'Life Eternal' showcases how MAYHEM's first full-length album became a cornerstone of black metal. These five rough mixes were recorded with the original guitarist Øystein 'Euronymous' Aarseth. Attila Csihar tests himself with various vocal recordings, especially on 'Pagan Fears,' which somehow sounds even more notorious than the final version. And although it ultimately remained on the cutting room floor, the pounding thunderstorm of drums that opens this version of 'Funeral Fog' is typical Hellhammer. 'Life Eternal' is a wild artifact from the most essential black metal band of all time.
