Deserted Fear, who are often seen as the embodiment of next generation death metal are back with their fourth album “Drowned By Humanity”. The young German band have already experienced a meteoric rise to fame and this new album is only set to continue their trajectory into super-stardom. The unexpected success of their first album “My Empire” made waves back in 2012 and saw the band anointed with the weighty role of trailblazers for the future of death metal: “You realise that you’ve started this thing and you just want to be 100% satisfied with everything you do next. It’s like having a kid, really,” explains singer Manuel "Mahne" Glatter. In just five years, the band put out three albums and evolved at breakneck speed into one of the biggest death metal bands in Germany – and all without sacrificing anything in the way of integrity. It isn’t just the fact that the band’s last work “Dead Shores Rising” shot into the Top 50 albums chart in Germany that’s attracted a lot of fan attention. They’ve also built up a solid reputation as sterling live performers. With “Drowned By Humanity”, Deserted Fear are boldly venturing into new territory and, for the first time, including emotional interludes that offer a stark contrast to their usual violent thunder grooves. The new album isn’t just more diverse than ever before, it’s also more well-rounded and compelling. For help producing “Drowned By Humanity”, the band turned to none other than Swedish producer Henrik Udd: a man who has proved instrumental in the formation of Swedish death metal sound by helping bands like In Flames, At The Gates, Soilwork and Arch Enemy to achieve world fame. The result is a record that is infused with creativity and energy.
