30th September saw the release of the new, second solo album “Sinner” from Aaron Lewis (Staind). Willie Nelson guest stars on traditional country tracks. Aaron Lewis is old enough to know what real country music sounds like. Similar to Darius Rucker (Hootie & the Blowfish), the lead singer of US post-grunge band Staind began a solo career as a country musician several years ago. 2011 saw the release of the platinum single "Country Boy”, recorded by the singer and guitarist in collaboration with country legends George Jones and Charlie Daniels, to great media acclaim. Since then, Lewis has followed in the footsteps of the great honky-tonk heroes and classical outlaws Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson. Lewis even collaborated with the latter on the title track of his second solo album “Sinner”. Nelson’s distinctive voice fits this dark swamp song perfectly. Nine of the eleven songs on “Sinner” were composed or co-composed by Lewis himself. Cover versions of Chris Stapleton’s “Whiskey and You” and Bruce Robison’s “Travelin’ Soldier” add further highlights to the LP.
