Connoisseurs of the muscular song “Donnerbolzen” know that Rummelsnuff’s musical think-tank has featured a team of true superheroes for some time now. Thus, it goes without saying that this fact must also be reflected in the title. Captain Rummelsnuff and Maat Asbach, the dynamic duo known for their pounding electro music, perform ballads of heavy manual labour (“Treidler", "Straßenbau"), human breeders who are fed with “Harzer cheese", and the "silence in the engine room" that stands for death. Cheerful and awkwardly funky, Doctor Rummel, a man of few words, dances with his inner adversary, the anarchist Mister Snuff. All songs in the album "Rummelsnuff & Asbach" are stylistically distinct from each other, and yet they all bear the unmistakable trademark of Rummelsnuff. Rummelsnuff channels many styles of music: electropunk, big melodies, folk, disco and sailor songs. Rummelsnuff, the old pumper with the rusty dumbbells, and Asbach, the tenor baritone and the offshoot of a dynasty of liquor distillers, come closer to perfection with this album.
