Many Faces Of Ramones

Descripción

The Ramones are undoubtedly one of the most influential bands in rock history. They, somewhat accidentally, laid the groundwork for a sound that later became punk with all its subgenres. Drummer Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy Ramone) was the one who brought together his friends Jeffrey Hyman (Joey Ramone, vocals), John Cummings (Johnny Ramone, guitar), and Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee Ramone, bass) to form the group in 1974. They certainly couldn't imagine that this would lead to a career lasting over 20 years with over 2,000 live shows. The band disbanded in August 1996, but their spirit lives on in new generations of fans who are discovering their music anew, as well as with a continuous stream of releases of old material. Releasing over a dozen albums was not enough for the Ramones. Therefore, all band members participated in side projects during and after their career, showcasing unknown artistic sides. This 3CD presents 42 songs (in the tradition of the early Ramones albums, with 14 tracks per disc) that were involved in some of the most important projects of the band members. We do this by delving through the band's first demos (from 1975) up to Joey and Dee Dee's latest recordings; from drummer Marc Bell's (Marky Ramone, replacement for founding drummer Tommy) solo adventures to Christopher Joseph Ward's (CJ Ramone) newest project. This material offers a great musical diversity that highlights the quality of the various projects and discovers many hidden gems that are currently only found on this collection, in addition to providing a number of unreleased and unheard tracks.
