The thoughtfully composed box set will be available as a 4 CD edition. On the four CDs you will find 35 live tracks – many of them so far unreleased – with recordings from Glasgow, Tokyo and Sydney. Apart from extensive liner notes by Dave Ling the compilation contains rare recordings from the archive of the band’s "fifth” member, tour manager Bob Young. The Discs 1 and 2 contain material from their 1977 album "Live!” that is regarded as one of the greatest concert albums ever – now the record comes back in full brightness. Recorded with the rolling Stones’ mobile production studio in Glasgow’s legendary Apollo from 27th to 29th October 1976, "Live!” not only offers a furious set but also marks the peak of the outstandingly long and successful history of the British legends of rock. Disc 3 contains the extremely rare album "Tokyo Quo” that, as suggested by the title, hitherto has solely been released in Japan – except for the strictly limited vinyl, which was released on the occasion of "Recordstore Day” 2014 in the UK. The album was recorded on 17th November 1976 in Sunplaza Hall. The fourth disc of the box, "Australia '74”, contains the so far unreleased records of the gig at Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, on 20th November 1974. The "Status Quo Live” box set leads its listeners through the glorious days of this influential rock band – former as well as current band members supported the production. On their good-bye tour in March and April 2014 the 'Frantic Four’ (that is how the original formation was called until 1981) played many concerts in Europe, including Germany, where QUO stopped in Berlin, Oberhausen and Stuttgart.
